MY DRUM LESSON PHILOSOPHY
One thing that has always confused me about playing the drums is that everyone has there own opinion of the proper technique. One teacher says hold the drum sticks tight, one says hold them loose, one says don't squeeze the stick on accents, one says pinch the sticks on accents, etc. I came to the conclusion that you should learn the all the different techniques and see which one works the best for you. One thing I'm sure, is that like most all other musical instruments, you must use your fingers to achieve the maximum speed and control. You arms can only go so fast!

ADIRONDACK MOUNTAIN HISTORY
April 22, 1902 At the logging town Warrensburg New York, the proprietor of the
Riverside inn was forced to eject a combative Irish patron for fighting with his black
banjo player because he didn't think he was a good singer. The patron (Morrissey)
went outside to his horse, to get his gun so he could shoot the banjo player. The
proprietor (Powel Brace) stood in the door and refused entry to the patron. Morrissey
shot Brace in the heart and he subsequently fell to the floor and died in his wife's arms.
At Morrissey's trial the prosecutor pointed to Brace's 8 year old son (Gernal) and
screamed for justice. To this day it is one of the only known murders in Warrensburg
history! Brace Hill is located half way between Brant Lake and Lake George along rte.
8 in the middle of the Vince Dixon Forest. Locals have long maintained that the Vince
Dixon Forest is haunted! The rest area next to Brace Hill on rt. 8 is listed in the Lake
George guidebooks as one of the most scenic lookouts in the Lake George region.
