14. Flams! The trick to playing flams is to drop the ghost note and whip it back up from the beginning of the upstroke position. Keep your bass drum on the accented note and make sure to start slow, and play a solid accent. In the VIDEO I start out with single flam lR rL lR rL , then double stroke lRRrLLlRRrLL , then the triplet rLRLlRLRrLRLlRLR. After that, the swiss army triplets lRRLlRRLlRRlRRl and rLLRrLLRrLLRrLLR. Last of all the hardest flam of all, the paradiddle flam. lRLRRrLRLLlRLRRrLRLL . Remember to just drop the drumstick and then whip it back up on the note before the accent.
15. The Drag rudiments! Just like the flam rudiments, the drag rudiments have to be practiced very slow at first with great care taken to hand positioning to ensure the proper playing of the ghost notes. These are, in my opinion, the most difficult rudiments and certainly require the book of essential drum rudiments. See VIDEO! First i play the half drag, then the full drag. In the next VIDEO I play the most difficult drag-paradiddle.
16. The single stroke exercises should be practiced with the bass drum on the accents. They will greatly help to make your weaker hand capable of playing accents and are great way to practice the MOELLER technique. First try the right hand accent RlrlRlrlRlrl then the left LrlrLrlrLrlr. Then the triplet RlrLrlRlrLrl . After that try accenting the right left with two unaccented right left left right notes. RLrlRLrlRLrlRLrl After that the most difficult one, accent the left right with two unaccented left right. LRlrLRlrLRlrLRlr
17. Apply the downstroke, stopping the drumstick an inch from the drumhead. Next tap the drumstick stopping it an inch from the drum head. Now strike the drumhead and let the drumstick bounce back to it's original upright position. Keep doing the exercise slowly, switching hands every few moments.

The upstroke is started with the drumstick about an inch from the drumhead. It is especially important to execute the drag and flam rudiments. The upstroke should be practiced with and without accents.
